An old Coca-Cola Light postcard ad

예전에 다방(또는 커피숍)을 대신하여 카페라는 새로운 문화(?) 공간이 대학가를 중심으로 막 퍼져나가던 1990년대에 카페 한 켠에 알록달록 예쁜 엽서들이 칸칸이 꽂혀 있던 모습을 기억하시나요? 애드랙스(adracks)라고 하는 업체에서 광고물을 예쁘게 엽서로 제작하여 카페나 패밀리 레스토랑 같이 일, 이십대들이 즐겨 찾는 곳에 비치해두고 소비자들이 하나씩 들고갈 수 있게 만든 새로운 광고 매체 였었는데 지금은 흔적없이 사라졌네요.

 

Do you remember the cafes that were just starting to spread around college campuses in the 1990s as a new cultural(?) space to replace traditional teahouses (or coffee shops)? They used to be filled with colorful, pretty postcards tucked away in a corner of the cafes? A company called Adracks would create pretty postcard advertisements and place them in cafes, family restaurants, and other places frequented by people in their twenties or thirties, allowing consumers to take one home. But now, they've completely disappeared.

 

단순히 예쁘게 만들던 엽서에서 스티커, 홀로그램, 샘플 부착 형태까지 다양한 모급으로 진화하며 소비자들에게 광고를 노출하는 것을 넘어 수집하는 트랜드를 만들기까지 했었는데 아쉽게도 지금은 인터넷에서도 그 흔적을 찾기가 쉽지 않습니다.

 

From simply making pretty postcards to evolving into stickers, holograms, and sample attachments, it went beyond exposing advertisements to consumers and even created a collecting trend. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find traces of it even on the internet these days.

 

예전 다이어리에 잘 꽂아두었던 코카-콜라 라이트 광고 엽서 하나 소개해 드립니다. 한국 코카-콜라의 연혁에서 살펴보니 우리나라에 코카-콜라 라이트가 출시된 것은 1990년 9월이라고 하네요. 제 기억으로 이 엽서는 90년대 후반쯤 제작되었던 광고였던 것 같습니다. 0 칼로리라는 점을 강조하던 광고가 진행되었던 것으로 기억하는데 그 때 같이 제작되어서 배포되었던 것 같습니다.

 

I'd like to share with you a Coca-Cola Light advertising postcard that I've kept in my old diary. Looking back at the history of Coca-Cola Korea, I see that Coca-Cola Light was first launched in Korea in September 1990. If I recall correctly, this postcard was produced and distributed around the late 1990s. I remember it being produced and distributed at the same time as an ad emphasizing its zero-calorie content.
